Senior leader stresses official cultivation, selection

Xinhua, October 23, 2015 Adjust font size:

Senior leader Liu Yunshan on Friday stressed the importance of selecting officials from young people, women, minor ethnic groups and non-Communist Party members.

Liu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said at a meeting in Beijing that recruiting officials from the four above-mentioned groups will help improve the structure and quality of officials.

Officials should have experience of working in the field and solving tough problems, and they must rise gradually through the hierarchy, he said.

In cultivating officials, priority must be given to education on political belief, political disciplines and rules, Liu said. Endi
