At least six militants were killed and two others were injured when U.S. pilotless aircraft launched a missile strike in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of Khyber Agency on Friday, local Urdu media Dawn reported.

The U.S. unmanned aircraft pounded a hideout of suspected militants in Nazyan area of Khyber Agency, a militancy-infested tribal area along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, Dawn said on its website.

The militants' compound was razed to ground following the attack and local people pulled the bodies out of the debris, said the report, adding that all the killed militants belonged to the banned outfit Islamic State's Afghanistan chapter.

Friday's strike by the U.S. drones was the 14th of its kind in Pakistan and the first in Khyber Agency since the beginning of this year.

To date, over 90 people have reportedly been killed in such strikes. Enditem
