Xinhua, October 21, 2015 Adjust font size:

Two Palestinians were shot dead on Tuesday night by Israeli troops' gunfire in the southern West Bank city of Hebron, Palestinian officials and eyewitnesses said.

Marwan Sultan, deputy Palestinian governor of Hebron's province told Xinhua that the Israeli soldiers directly opened fire and killed two Palestinian young men near the settlement of Keryat Arba'a in Hebron.

Israeli media quoted Israeli army sources as saying that the two Palestinians carried out a stabbing attack and wounded one soldier, where other soldiers killed them.

Earlier on Tuesday, three Palestinians were killed and more than 16 wounded in another day of tension between Israel and the Palestinians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Since October, 49 Palestinians and 10 Israelis were killed in a flaring wave of tension and violent confrontations between Israel and the Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem. Endit
