Jordan, Tunisia discuss bilateral ties, regional developments

Jordan's King Abdullah II and visiting Tunisian President Al Baji Gaid Al Sabasi on Tuesday discussed means to foster bilateral ties and regional developments, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

Petra said the two leaders signed agreements to enhance ties in the fields of security ad military.

They also explored opportunities to enhance economic cooperation and boost trade volume.

King Abdullah II said Jordan and Tunisia face common challenges in economic and anti-terror fields, as well as the refugee crisis in the Middle East.

For his part, Sabasi expressed his appreciation of Jordan's role in addressing different challenges, regionally and internationally.

The two leaders called for intensified efforts and a coordinated strategy to combat terrorism, which is affecting the whole region.

They also exchanged views on latest development in Libya, Syria and Iraq, as well as the recent escalation between the Palestinians and Israel. Endit
