Authorities investigate mainland visitor's manslaughter in HK

Xinhua, October 20, 2015 Adjust font size:

China's tourism watchdog is helping Hong Kong authorities investigate the fatal beating of a mainland visitor to the island this week.

The man died on Tuesday morning in a Hong Kong hospital after being beaten in a jewelry shop during a dispute on Monday. The police have classified the case as manslaughter and four people have been arrested.

The National Tourism Administration (NTA) is in contact with its counterpart in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and will support its handling the case according to law, said the NTA.

It called for the incident to be thoroughly investigated and for local authorities to protect the legitimate interests of mainland visitors. Endi
