Visiting Chadian President Idriss Deby said on Saturday that his country has a real interest in Sudan's stability, pointing out that Chad would not enjoy stability unless Sudan enjoys it.

"The participation in the dialogue conference reaffirms our support for the efforts to achieve stability in Sudan, with which we maintain common interests and deeply-rooted ties," said Deby when addressing the opening sitting of the national dialogue conference.

"Chad has an interest to see stability and sustainable peace in Sudan, for if Sudan enjoyed stability, no doubt Chad will enjoy it as well," he noted.

Deby called on the rebel movements in Darfur, which are rejecting the dialogue, to change their stances and embark on a serious national dialogue that leads to peace in Darfur region, which lies on the border with Chad.

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Saturday opened the sessions of the national dialogue conference in Khartoum with the participation of 92 Sudanese political parties and representatives of regional organizations.

Deby has managed to persuade three rebel leaders of Darfur armed factions and brought them to Khartoum to participate in the national dialogue conference.

The three rebel leaders included Abul-Qasim Imam, leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM)/AW faction, Al-Tahir Hajar, leader of Justice Movement and Abdalla Yahya, leader of Unity Movement.

The conference is scheduled to discuss six major issues including peace, identity, rights and freedoms, economy, external relations, and rule and management.

Major political parties and armed movements have rejected to participate in the conference including the Revolutionary Front Alliance, which brings together the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM)/ northern sector and the major Darfur armed movements in addition to the opposition alliance parties.

In January 2014, al-Bashir declared an initiative calling on the opposition parties and the armed groups to join a national dialogue to end the country's crises Endit
