Chinese dark horse Liang/Wang stopped by world No. 1 Hingis/Mirza

Xinhua, October 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

Home players Liang Chen/Wang Yafan's dark horse trip at China Open was snapped by world number pair of Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza on Friday.

Playing the semifinal, the Chinese pair was totally in a different league comparing to the Swiss/Indian duo, losing 6-2, 6-3 in just one hour or so.

But Liang and Wang should be satisfied with their results, upsetting several seeded teams on their road to the semifinal as wildcard.

"I'm not feeling good right now. In the previous matches, we were playing really good. But today against the No. 1 team, we were trying to play our best," Liang said.

"But what we did today was very different from what we expected due to weather or pressure or confidence level. I think we had lower confidence today, which has a big influence on our performance," Liang added. Endit
