Mexico, U.S. favorite for CONCACAF Men's Olympic qualifying final

Mexico, the gold-medal winner in London 2012, as well as the United States, Honduras and Canada will play semifinals of CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football) Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship to be held on Saturday.

Mexico, leader of Group B, will play against Canada, second place of Group A, while the United States, leader of Group A, will face Honduras, second of Group B.

Both semifinal matches will be played in Rio Tinto Stadium, in Sandy, Utah, U.S. The winners will get a ticket for Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games.

According to the performance in the group phase, Mexico and the U.S. are the favorite teams to reach finals. They had perfect results including three victories and nine points each.

But according to statistics, both teams also have the largest number of victories in CONCACAF competitions.

Mexico won gold medal in London 2012 Olympic Games, a result praised by experts.

Meanwhile, the U.S. showed a very powerful offensive in the group phase reaching 13 goals including three against Canada, six against Cuba and four against Panama.
