Xinhua, October 7, 2015 Adjust font size:

Vietnamese national football team will play against Iraq on Thursday in Vietnam' s capital Hanoi at Asian qualifier for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The host Vietnam will later meet Thai rivals at another qualifier for the tournament on Oct. 13 in Hanoi.

In the World Cup' s Asian qualifying, Vietnam stays with Chinese Taipei, Thailand, and Iraq in Group F.

Each team will play each other on a home-and-away round robin basis to find the best team with highest points to move to the next stage of qualification.

The Iraqi team with 23 footballers and 16 officials and staff arrived in Hanoi yesterday, local media reported.

Earlier, Vietnam lost 0-1 to Thailand in their first match in Thailand in May. Endi
