-- With partly harsh words, politicians from Germany's grand coalition government are demanding German Chancellor Angela Merkel to an adjustment in her refugee policy. Bavaria's Prime Minister Horst Seehofer criticized Merkel's decision of Sept. 4 to take camping refugees in Hungary, and urged a "strong signal" in the opposite direction.

-- In attacks on a hospital of "Doctors Without Borders" (MSF) in Kunduz, at least 22 people have been killed, including 12 employees and three children, according to the organization. The spokesman for the U.S. forces in Afghanistan, Brian Tribus, admitted that the clinic has been hit accidentally.

-- German Chancellor Angela Merkel has rejected demands from the opposition parties to prohibit the acceptance of asylum seekers. The vast majority of cases come under the Geneva Convention on Refugees and not the classic asylum procedure, she said.
