Over 120 fishermen remained missing in Ilocos region of northern Philippines even as Tropical Storm Mujigae (local name: Kabayan) has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility, Philippine regional disaster reduction agencies reported on Sunday.

A situation report of Mujigae from the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council 1 (Ilocos Region) said a total of 121 fishermen and 23 fishing vessels were reported missing as of October 3. (Philippines-Tropical Storm)

DHAKA -- Three unidentified assailants have been regarded as murderers of a Japanese national in Bangladesh on Saturday which was the second attack claimed by Islamic State (IS) group jihadists, local police said Sunday.

Japanese national Hoshi Kunio, 66, was gunned down by unidentified assailants at about 11:00 a.m. local time on Saturday morning in Bangladesh's northwestern Rangpure district, about 300 km away of capital Dhaka, on a rickshaw as he was making his way to visit his grass farm. MANILA -- Ministers of 21 member economies of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) convened Sunday for a two-day forum to push for food security and blue economy in the region.

Philippine Environment Secretary Ramon Paje, during his opening remarks at the APEC High Level Policy Dialogue held in central Philippine city of Iloilo, called for greater cooperation among member economies to unlock the full potential of the so-called " blue economy" and achieve inclusive growth in the region. KABUL -- The air strikes during military operations in Afghanistan northern Kunduz province to evict Taliban militants from the city hit the hospital of an aid agency Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) on Saturday which 19 people including staff members of the hospital dead and injured more than three dozen others has been widely condemned at home and abroad.

MSF in a statement released here, besides demanding explanation from the U.S. military has condemned the strike on the hospital in its strongest possible term. (Afghansitan-Kunduz-Air Strikes)

YANGON -- Myanmar government and some ethnic armed groups agreed on Sunday to set Oct. 15 for the formal signing of the nationwide ceasefire accord (NCA) in Nay Pyi Taw, sources with the Myanmar Peace Center said.

The designation of the date for NCA signing at the Myanmar International Convention Center came after talks between the government's Union Peace Making Work Committee (UPWC) and eight armed groups out of 15 invited by the government for attendance. ( Myanmar-Ceasefire Accord)
