A big wedding and conference center under construction in Vietnam's southern Can Tho city collapsed Saturday afternoon, leaving one construction worker dead and four others injured.

A 33-year-old man named Truong Van Han was killed on the spot due to the fall of big concrete pieces after the collapse of the half-done center's eaves, local media reported.

The center, one of the biggest of its kind in Can Tho, consists of an entertainment area and an artificial beach at the bank of the Hau River, with the Hau River Tourism Joint Stock Company being the investor, according to the online version of Tuoi Tre ( Youth) newspaper reported. Endi
