A total of 18 people were killed and 41 others injured by series of explosions which rocked two satellite towns in Nigeria's capital city late Friday, officials said Saturday.

An official of the local National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Ishyah Chonoko said a total of 15 dead victims and 20 injured were found at the site of two explosions in Kuje, a suburb of the Nigerian capital city. (Nigeria-Explosions)

PARIS -- After talks on Ukraine future with leaders from Russia, Ukraine and Germany, French President Francois Hollande said Minsk peace process would be extended to next year in order to meet security conditions to hold elections.

KABUL -- Amid Afghan government forces' cleanup operations in northern Kunduz city, capital of Kunduz province 250 km north of Kabul, militants loyal to the Taliban outfit have opened more fronts by attacking some districts in Baghlan, Takhar, Badakhshan and Jauzjan provinces over the past couple of days.

In latest advance against government interests, the Taliban militants, according to media reports, captured Tala-o-Barfak district in Kunduz neighboring Baghlan province Friday night, but the government has yet to take any step to recapture the district. (Afghanistan-Taliban-Conflict)

DAMASCUS -- Russian war jets struck positions of the Islamic State (IS) militants in Syria's northern province of al-Raqqa, the de facto capital of the IS terror group, a monitor group reported Saturday.

The Russian warplanes carried out multiple airstrikes on areas in northern and western parts of al-Raqqa, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, spelling no details on losses or causalities. (Syria-Russia-Airstrikes)

RAMALLAH -- Fierce clashes flared up on Saturday between Palestinians and Israeli army in the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
