2nd LD: Small passenger plane missing in eastern Indonesia

A small passenger plane with 10 people aboard lost contact near Sulawesi Island in eastern Indonesia on Friday, a Transport Ministry official said.

The Twin Otter DHC-6 plane with lost contact at 0636 GMT en route from Masamba to Makassar in South Sulawesi province, ministry spokesman Julius Arivada Barata told Xinhua.

The aircraft is operated by Aviastar airline, he said.

The people on board included a pilot, two technicians and 7 passengers, an official at the crisis center of the airline named only by Marlin told Xinhua. Endi
