About 1,500 people will take part in the final round of the 42nd annual Ha Noi Moi (New Hanoi) Run Tournament on Sunday in Vietnam' s capital Hanoi.

Over 300 foreigners from embassies and international organizations in Hanoi, together with professional Vietnamese runners are expected to participate into the event, local media reported on Friday.

The event aims to celebrate the 61st anniversary of Hanoi's Liberation Day which falls on Oct. 10 and the 16th anniversary of Hanoi' s recognition as a UNESCO City for Peace.

The tournament has been the largest running event so far in Hanoi as it has drawn the participation of more than 30,000 people in the qualifying rounds since its launch. Endi
