2nd LD: Afghan gov't forces recapture Kunduz city from Taliban

Afghan security forces backed by air power recaptured the northern Kunduz city and evicted Taliban militants from the city early on Thursday, Khalid Amiri, an army commander in the province, said.

All parts of the city have been recaptured and cleanup operations have been continuing, the official added.

Sediq Sediqqi, spokesman for the country's Interior Minister, said earlier on Twitter that the city was retaken and there was heavy casualty on Taliban militants.
