Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann said Wednesday that his government would send 100 experts to EU registration centers, the so-called hot spots on the outer EU borders to aid in the ongoing migrant crisis.
Faymann made the announcement after a telephone conversation with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The 100 people will be made up of army, police personnel and other administrators, Kronen Zeitung newspaper quoted Faymann as saying.
The experts will see whether border security is achieved along with a "controlled entrance door," the chancellor said.
"When one controls borders, one forces people to enter via the entrance door" he said.
The chancellor said he expected that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's planned visit to Brussels on Sunday will lead to greater cooperation on the migrant issue. Endi
