Acer to recall laptop power lines over combustion risk

Xinhua, September 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

Acer will recall 16,787 Gateway and Founder laptop chargers over fire risks, said the country's top quality watchdog on Wednesday.

The affected chargers, namely Linetek LS-15 model, were manufactured between September 2010 and June 2012, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) on its official website.

When immersed in water or in extreme damp conditions, the power lines may overheat and combust, said the AQSIQ.

The company will replace the faulty parts free of charge. Endit
