India Wednesday inducted its largest-ever warship and stealth-guided missile destroyer INS Kochi into its naval fleet at Mumbai dockyard.

Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar officially commissioned the warship that is the second ship of the Kolkata- class guided missile destroyers.

"There is a renewed enthusiasm among defense production units, public sector undertakings and private sectors. Finish of the INS Kochi is good as any foreign ship," he said.

The warship has been designed by the Indian Navy's Directorate of Naval Design and constructed by Mazagon Dock Ship Builders Ltd in Mumbai.

It is one of the few warships of the world to have multi- function surveillance and threat alert radar that can provide target data to long-range surface-to-air missile system. Endi
