Myanmar sees over 4.5 mln tourist arrivals in 2015

Myanmar is expected to see tourist arrivals exceed 4.5 million this year, according to an official report out on Wednesday.

The number of foreign tourists visiting Myanmar as of September this year has overtaken the figure of 3.08 million for the whole of 2014, said the report by Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Htay Aung.

According to ministry statistics as of Aug. 31, Myanmar had 1, 225 licensed hotels with 47,911 rooms across the country and 1,847 travel operators.

The country has set a target of attracting 5 million tourists in 2015. Endi
