The Pentagon announced on Tuesday the U.S. military was to "open lines of communication with Russia" to de-conflict air operations in Syria.

"We expect the details of those conversations, including the exact timing of those conversations, will be worked out in the coming day," said Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook at a press briefing. (U.S.-Russia )

WASHINGTON -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday warned that emerging market economies are more vulnerable to a rise in interest rates and an increase in global risk aversion due to their rising corporate debt.

In an analytical chapter of the IMF's Global Financial Stability Report, the IMF research found that the corporate debt of nonfinancial firms across major emerging markets rose sharply from about 4 trillion U.S. dollars in 2004 to well over 18 trillion dollars in 2014, due to low interest rates in advanced economies, as well as other global factors. COPENHAGEN, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Denmark's Defense Minister Carl Holst stepped down on Tuesday amid a series of scandals, local media reported.

JERUSALEM -- The Israeli police arrested 20 people, Palestinians and Jews, during clashes surrounding the flashpoint site of Temple Mount in east Jerusalem throughout Tuesday, a police spokesperson told Xinhua.

Out of those arrested, several were Palestinian teens from east Jerusalem suspected of throwing stones, as well as several Palestinian women who were taken-in for disorderly conduct. (Israel-Clash) Endi
