German companies plan to recruit in September: research institute

Xinhua, September 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

German firms are again willing to recruit in September for the second consecutive month, the Ifo research institute reported Monday.

According to their report, the Ifo employment barometer index rose to 108.6 points in September from 108.4 points in August.

Considering the very good economic situation, the barometer in service sector rose to its highest level in over three years. Retailers and construction sector continue their efforts to find additional employees, Ifo reported.

"The main driver of recent developments remains the service sector," the report noted.

However, the dynamic in wholesaling and manufacturing remains fairly weak, according to the Munich-based think tank.

Ifo is one of Europe's leading research institutes. Its business climate index is considered among the most important barometers for German economy. Endit
