No refugee centre planned in southern coast area of Croatia: PM

There would be no any refugee centre in the Dubrovnik area, the southern coast of Croatia, Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic said on Monday in responding the reports saying refugees would start pouring in the area.

The reports saying the refugees would enter Dubrovnik, the Croatian most famous tourism destination, was a rumour aiming at spreading panic in the country, he said.

"Croatia has the right to close its borders because the door is open to refugees in the north," he added.

Croatian Interior Minister Ranko Ostojic, also on Monday, said that the refugees who were trying to enter the country from the south would be returned to where they came from.

A total of 79,920 refugees have entered the country since Sept. 16, according to the Interior Ministry. Endit
