China remains unbeaten by beating Lebanon 90-72 at Asian Championship

China became the only unbeaten team at the 2015 Asian Championship of men's basketball by defeating Lebanon 90-72 here on Monday.

Former NBA player Yi Jilian had a match high 19 points to lead the six Chinese players who had double-digit performance tonight. Jasmon Youngblood and Bassel Bawji contributed team high 14 points for Lebanon respectively.

After going back home to take care of ill daughter and coming back in two days, China's Captain Zhou Peng returned to the start five and hit the game opening three-pointer.Yi still had steady performance by filling the stadium with screams with two consecutive slamdunks. The host was 24-17 up after the first quarter.

Chinese basketball legend Yao Ming, who sat among the audience tonight, appeared on the big screen over the court, following by the image of Zhou Qi, the youngest center of China playing on the court. The latter helped the team to established a 15-point advantage before the halftime.

Lebanon hit five three-pointers in the third period to share a 21-point performance with China. Guo Ailun, the point guard of young China team, scored seven straight points down at the end of this quarter.

Zhai Xiaochuan and Yi Jianlian combined three slamdunks in a row to offer an feast for the audiences'eyes. China once led with 24 points before Bassel Bawji had seven in the paint to cut the deficit for Lebanon. But the host still enjoyed a 90-72 victory at last.

As Iran losing to the Philippines this afternoon, China became the only unbeaten team at 2015 Asian Championship. They are about to play against Qatar tomorrow.

"We already had analysis reports of key players of every team including Qatar," said China's head coach, Gong Luming. "So there won't be any special arrangement before tomorrow's match." Endi
