Chinese FM meets Croatian deputy PM on promoting bilateral cooperation

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met here with Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Vesna Pusic on Sunday, and both vowed to advance bilateral as well as regional cooperation.

Wang said despite the long distance between China and Croatia, their comprehensive cooperative partnership has seen smooth development, with frequent exchanges of high-level visits and many an opportunities, and China is always willing to join hands with Croatia to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Croatia has consistently played "a constructive role" in the "16 plus 1 cooperation," a new cooperative platform of China and the Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC), the Chinese minister said.

"Economic complementarity is the impetus for cooperations between China and the CEEC and thus the core of the '16 plus 1 cooperation,'" he said, adding the cooperation platform will bring win-win results and facilitate the integration of Europe.

For her part, Pusic said Croatia expects to explore new opportunities for cooperation with China on transportation, tourism and other sectors, and will push forward the "16 plus 1 cooperation."

She spoke highly of the "Six 100s" initiative Chinese President Xi Jinping announced at a South-South cooperation roundtable Saturday, and said it would serve as a good example of China's efforts to play a positive role in helping developing countries.

on the same day, Wang also met with Sartaj Aziz, advisor to Pakistan's prime minister on national security and foreign affairs, and discussed the situation in Afghanistan. They agreed on support for the peaceful reconstruction of the war-torn country. Endi
