Messi off with knee injury

Xinhua, September 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

Leo Messi lasted just 8 minutes before leaving FC Barcelona' s match at home to Las Palmas with an apparent knee injury.

The Argentinean ace was injured in a collision with Las Palmas defender Pedro Bigas in just the fourth minute of the game. He returned to the pitch after treatment but after taking one touch and trying a shot run, he signaled to the club dugout that he was unable to continue, he sat down and was carried off on a stretcher to be replaced by young forward Munir.

Early reports are that the striker has damaged his internal knee ligament and he will need to undergo further tests before the full extent of the injury is known. Endi
