Urgent: China, U.S. vow to work for ambitious Paris outcome on climate change

China and the United States on Friday reiterated their resolve to work together and with others toward an ambitious, successful outcome of the upcoming climate conference in Paris.

The pledge came in a joint statement issued during Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to the United States, where the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to reach an ambitious agreement in 2015 that reflects the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities.
