British FTSE 100 increases 2.47 pct on Friday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Friday increased by 2.47 percent, or 147.52 points, to 6,109.01 points.

FTSE 100 Index finished Friday's session in positive territory after U.S. real gross domestic product (GDP) data was unexpectedly revised higher.

GDP increased at an annual rate of 3.9 percent in the second quarter of 2015, according to the "third" estimate released by the U.S. Commerce Department Friday.

The revised-up GDP data was mainly boosted by stronger consumer spending and construction.

Share price of ARM Holdings increased by 5.99 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Johnson Matthey, St James's Place, Unilever and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA increased by 4.84 percent, 4.42 percent, 4.41 percent and 4.14 percent respectively.

Anglo American led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 1.58 percent, followed by Glencore (1.41 percent), Antofagasta (1.08 percent), Randgold Resources Ltd. (0.51 percent) and Fresnillo (0.40 percent). Endit
