Imprisonment order issued to 3 suspects in Mexican druglord's escape

An imprisonment order was issued on Thursday to three former public servants allegedly involved in the prison break of Mexican druglord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman.

The three people who have not been identified were confined in the Federal Social Readaptation Center No. 1 "Altiplano", the maximum security federal prison, in the municipality of Almoloya de Juarez in central Mexico, local media reported, quoting sources from the Mexican Attorney General's Office (PGR).

Guzman escaped from the aforementioned prison on July 11 through a 1.5-km tunnel which ran from the shower area of his cell to an construction site allegedly bought by the druglord's accomplices.

The PGR, which is in charge of investigating the case, has imprisoned dozens of federal officials allegedly linked to Guzman's escape.

This is Guzman's second escape from the same prison.

The druglord had managed to escape with the help of prison officers in 2014, after he was arrested in the port town of Mazatlan in the northeastern state of Sinaloa. Endi
