Dengue toll touches 30 in Indian capital

Xinhua, September 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

The death toll in dengue has touched 30 in the Indian capital that is facing its worst-ever outbreak of the mosquito-borne disease.

"So far, 30 people have succumbed to dengue in the national capital, while some 4,000 people are affected by the tropical disease," a senior health official said Friday.

The health department has started sending a recorded phone message by Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain to people informing them about the disease and free treatment.

The hospitals in Delhi have also been asked not to turn away any dengue patients and additional beds are also arranged in state- run hospitals to accommodate more patients. Endi
