Japan enjoys 119-48 victory over Malaysia at FIBA Asian Championship

Japan whitewashed Malaysia 119-48 in the second round of group stage at the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship of men's basketball here on Thursday.

Japan started with a 14-0 scoring run. As Malaysia had only nine points, Japan buried 32 points in the first quarter. Another 12-0 streak helped Japan extend the advantage to 40 points during the second quarter. Malaysia made 14 later the quarter as the Japaneses began to cool down.

The two-pointer right after the halftime break marked Malaysia's only income in the third quarter. Japan proceeded from 59 to 94 while Malaysia stood at 25.

In the last quarter, Hashimoto Ryoma and Ono Ryumo combined straight 10 out of the 25 points Japan made in the period. Malaysia managed to score 23 points, of which Ma Chee Kheun contributed a fade-away and three three-pointers, including the last one from the midcourt line.

Seven Japan players had double-digit points with Matsui Keijuro scored the match-high 25 points. Ma Chee Kheun led Malaysia with 11 points.

Japan hit 17 of 35 attempts behind the arc and led the bench points with a 72-10 margin. Endi
