"Mission: Impossible" dominates China's box office

"Mission: Impossible -- Rogue Nation," the fifth installment of the action franchise, ruled China's box office in the week ending Sept. 20, pulling in 216 million yuan (33.9 million U.S. dollars).
The film, which stars Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise, grossed about 766 million yuan in ticket sales after opening on Sept. 8.
It was closely followed by "Minions," which earned 200 million yuan in the week. The latter's total box office stood at 320 million yuan since it was released on Sept. 13.
The third spot went to action-fantasy "Pixels", which raked in 77.9 million yuan in the week after opening on Sept. 15, China Film News reported Thursday.
"Assassination," a crime-action produced by the Republic of Korea, came in fourth, reaping 25 million yuan in the week. It was released on Sept. 17.
Rounding out the top five was a domestic thriller "Ulterior Motive", with 9.5 million yuan in the week. It opened on the same day as "Assassination". Endi
