China offers aid to quake-hit Chile

The Chinese government has decided to provide 300,000 U.S. dollars in humanitarian aid to help disaster relief work in quake-hit Chile, the Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.

China will offer further assistance according to Chile's demands, the ministry said.

According to Chile's National Office of Emergencies, at least 11 people were killed and nine others injured following the strong earthquake on Sept. 16.

About nine aftershocks jolted the region between the towns of Illapel and Ovalle on Monday. Endi
