Cambodian PM heads for UN Summit in New York

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen left here on Wednesday to attend the United Nations Summit in New York, which will be held from Sept. 25 to 27, a senior official said.

Sry Thamarong, minister attached to the prime minister, said Hun Sen will attend the UN Summit for the adoption of the Post 2015 Development Agenda and the Global Leaders' Meeting on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment. "The prime minister will deliver his remarks at the two summits, "he said.

Hun Sen's entourage includes deputy prime minister and foreign minister Hor Namhong and Secretary General of the Council for the Development of Cambodia Sok Chenda, as well as other government members.

According to Sry Thamarong, the prime minister will return home on Sept. 28 and assign Hor Namhong to continue attending the General Debate of the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly and the Leaders' Summit on Peacekeeping. Endi
