Fifty-one world records were refreshed at the Ninth Chinese National Games for Disabled and Sixth Special Olympics when the event lowered its curtain in here on Saturday.

To save the cost and be more efficient, this year witnessed the first time to combine the country's national games for disabled and special Olympics. Also in line with the spirit, the opening and closing ceremony were both held in daytime without super pop stars.

A total of 5,344 athletes took part in two periods of the Games respectively held in April, May and Sept. 12-19.

Twenty-nine sporting items produced 1,561 gold medals in total.

About 11,000 volunteers served the event with a total service time of over 530,000 hours.

At the closing ceremony, the representative from Tianjin received the flag of the event. Tianjin will hold the 10th Chinese National Games for Disabled and Seventh Special Olympics in 2019 and Chinese National Games in 2017. Endi
