Xinhua, September 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) have captured a Taliban local leader in northern Badakhshan province, provincial government spokesman said Saturday.

"Based on a confirmed tip-off, the ANSF carried out a special operation on a militant hideout in Chahar Maghzak village in Kishim district on Friday, capturing a Taliban shadow district governor named Qari Nasir along with four of his associates," spokesman Nawid Froutan told Xinhua.

The insurgent commander was involved in conducting terrorist attacks, including organizing a suicide attack in the district this year, the official said, adding a car bomb and a rounds of weapons were also seized by the security force following the raid.
