Rio's Olympic Park hits 89% completion

Xinhua, September 19, 2015 Adjust font size:

Construction work at Barra Olympic Park, the main precinct for next year's Olympic Games, is 89% complete, officials said on Friday.

Of the 16 venues being built for the Olympics, two have been finished, while work on another six is more than 90% complete, according to Rio2016.com.

The concluded venues are located at the Deodoro complex in Rio's west, the city's second largest Olympic sports precinct.

Deodoro will host 11 sports in the Olympics and four in the Paralympics.

The completed venues - for BMX and mountain biking - will stage test events early next month. Endi
