Danish Prime Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen will visit Britain next Monday to have talks with his counterpart David Cameron, the prime minister's office said Friday.

"Great Britain is one of Denmark's most important partners in the EU. We wish that Great Britain will continue to have a strong voice in EU cooperation," Rasmussen said ahead of the visit.

The main topics at the meeting will be the current refugee and immigration situation in Europe and Britain's relations with the EU.

"Denmark and the UK have many common interests, not least in relation to free trade, the expansion of the internal market and the strengthening of member states' competitiveness," said Rasmussen, adding that Denmark wishes to work with Britain to modernize EU legislation on welfare.

During the visit, Rasmussen is expected to meet with representatives of Danish companies in Britain, where they will discuss the Danish export opportunities in the British market. Endit
