Fluminense name Eduardo Baptista as coach

Xinhua, September 18, 2015 Adjust font size:

Four-time Brazilian Serie A champions Fluminense on Thursday appointed Eduardo Baptista as their new coach.

Baptista replaces Enderson Moreira, who was sacked after the club's 4-1 home loss to Palmeiras on Wednesday. He becomes Fluminense's fourth coach this year.

"I identify myself with the club and fans can rest assured that I am going to dedicate myself 24 hours a day to the job," the coach said.

The 45-year-old joins Fluminense from their Serie A rivals Sport Recife, who he joined as coach in January 2014.

Fluminense are currently 11th in Brazil's Serie A standings with 34 points from 26 matches. Endi
