(Recast) Chinese premier vows closer cooperation with Indonesia

Premier Li Keqiang on Thursday met with Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) of Indonesia Zulkifli Hasan.

As influential countries in East Asia, Li said, China and Indonesia should cement exchanges and pragmatic cooperation, and contribute to regional stability, prosperity and development.

China hopes to align its 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative with Indonesia's "World Maritime Axis" strategy, to conduct capacity cooperation and boost industrialization, he said.

He called for closer cooperation between the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the MPR.

Zulkifli said Indonesia hoped to cement cooperation with China, and explore cooperation in areas such as maritime connectivity, investment, finance and energy

He also expressed hoped for closer links between both countries' enterprises and people. Endi
