Frankfurt auto show highlights intelligent driving

The 66th Frankfurt Auto Show (IAA) will showcase the trend of intelligent driving, the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) announced on Monday.

In a press conference held here, VDA president Matthias Wissmann elaborated that the slogan of the 66th IAA "Mobility connects" is tailor-made and Frankfurt is an ideal place for people to experience connected and automated driving.

"... In the coming years driving a car will become even safer and more comfortable," said Wissmann.

He explained that intelligent and connected car can communicate with its surroundings and with other road users.

According to Wissmann, 80 percent of the new cars will feature an Internet connection in two years.

He also unveiled that the exhibition has attracted 1,103 exhibitors from 39 countries, 40 percent of whom came from other countries. The five best represented foreign countries are China, South Korea, France, Britain and Italy.

The number world premieres at this IAA will go up to 219, 60 more than that in IAA 2013. The vehicle manufacturers will present 83 world premieres and the suppliers 98, and the other exhibitors 38. Endit
