World Chess Cup brings together 128 players

The FIDE 2015 World Chess Cup started here on Friday, with 128 players from 45 countries and regions competing in the tournament.

Each player need to knock out the opponent in two games every round to advance, with the final to be won in four games.

The total prize of the World Cup which ends on Oct. 5, is 1,600,000 US dollars. The winner and the runner-up will qualify for the 2016 Candidates tournament to determine the next World Championship challengers. Endit
