Central authority delegation returns to Beijing from Tibet

A central authority delegation that traveled to observe the 50th anniversary of the founding of Tibet Autonomous Region returned to Beijing on Friday.

Headed by Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the delegation left Beijing for Tibet on Sunday.

During their stay in Xigaze, the second largest city of Tibet, Yu and other members of the delegation visited households in a newly-built village. Yu was briefed the work of local government to help villagers improve housing, education and living conditions.

Yu said he hopes Tibetan people will live a more affluent life and have a better future.

Tibet marked the 50th anniversary of the founding of the autonomous region earlier this week. Endi
