CPC approves reform plan for ecological progress

Xinhua, September 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

China's top leadership on Friday passed an overall program on reforming the ecological progress mechanism.

Reforming the ecological progress mechanism are indispensable in China's further comprehensive reforms, said a statement issued after a meeting of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, which was chaired by the committee's General Secretary Xi Jinping.

To boost ecological progress, the country should respect nature, adjust to nature and protect nature. Economic development and environmental protection should be coordinated, the statement said.

The statement called for international cooperation in promoting ecological progress.

A fundamental framework must be built to boost such reforms, including a clear ownership system of natural resource assets, an ecological compensation system, an ecological evaluation system and a responsibility system, it said. Endi
