Another police killed as violent protest continues in southern Nepal

Xinhua, September 11, 2015 Adjust font size:

Clashes have continued to erupt between police and protestors in the southern plains of Nepal, leading to a brutal death of police personnel Friday.

An Armed Police Force Assistant Inspector Thaman Bahadur BK has been killed at Jaleshwor of Mahottari district by a mob while he was on the way to hospital after sustaining injury.

BK was beaten to death by protestors in a paddy field with wielded stick after pulling him out of the ambulance, which was taking BK to Janakpur hospital. He received severe injuries in Jaleshwor VDC this morning from the attack of protestors.

The local administration has been imposing curfew in the district following the death of three protestors in police firing on Wednesday.

Terai districts have been in unrest for a month due to the protests launched by dissenting parties over seven-state federal model in the new constitution. Large numbers of protestors are on streets demanding a separate province based on own ethnicity.

The death toll of police personnel viciously killed by irate protestors in the month-long protest has reached 11. Endi
