Egypt maintain lead on 2015 All Africa Games medal table

As the 11th edition of the 2015 All Africa Games enter Day Seven, Egypt have maintained their lead on the medal table standings.

The Egyptians who even had to pull out their football team two weeks to the start of the Games have won a total of 93 medals which include 31 gold, 31 silver and 31 bronze.

In swimming Egypt's Farida Osman was dominant and also won the 100m butterfly to claim gold in a winning time of 58.83.

Ahmed Akram added a second win to Egypt's column, claiming gold in the men's 400m freestyle. Although Egypt picked several medals in swimming, South Africa proved supreme with more than 20 medals won.

South Africa who won a number of medals in badminton that climaxed on Wednesday are second on the medal table with 29 gold medals, 22 silvers and 16 bronze medals.

Algeria and Tunisia are in third and fourth place respectively while Uganda, Kenya, Benin and Libya are joint 18th with one bronze medal. Endi
