Mediation center established for Chinese, Arabian enterprises

A mediation center to solve business disputes between Chinese and Arabian enterprises was established Thursday in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

The mediation center has legal experts from various countries to provide consultation services and help for companies in business disputes, said Zhang Shun, deputy head of the law service center under the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

Trade between China and the Arab states has exploded from 10 million U.S. dollars in the 1950s to 251.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2014, which made China the second largest trading partner of the Arab States.

However, the expanding investment and trade have also led to more business disputes. Zhang said the CCPIT has handled more than 150 cases with money of two billion yuan (around 320 million U.S. dollars) involved, related to Arabian companies since 2013.

"It is necessary to improve legal service system and resolving mechanism of international trade disputes between China and Arabian countries," said Zhang. Endi
