Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday vowed to further strengthen cooperation between China's northeast provinces and Russia's Far Eastern regions.
China hoped to make such cooperation between localities a new highlight of the China-Russia cooperation, Li said while meeting Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev on the sidelines of the Summer Davos forum.
Li said the two sides should strengthen cooperation in areas including industrial capacity, infrastructure construction, resources development and deep processing, high technology and innovation.
Trutnev echoed Li by saying that Russia's Far Eastern regions are conducting large-scale of development and construction and that Chinese companies will be welcome to join infrastructure projects such as transportation and port.
Trutnev and Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang co-chaired last week the first meeting of regional cooperation councils of Russia's Far East and China's northeastern provinces, in which the two sides agreed to strengthen strategy coordination and provide policy convenience for cooperation between companies from both countries.
