Japan's wholesale prices in August down 3.6 pct

Japan's wholesale prices in August declined 3.6 percent from the same period last year, marking the fifth consecutive monthly drop, the Bank of Japan said Thursday.

The index of corporate goods prices stood at 102.7 against the 2010 base of 100, the central bank said in a preliminary report.

Export prices were up 3.4 percent while import prices dropped 9. 6 percent. Endi
