Xinhua, September 9, 2015 Adjust font size:

China on Wednesday backed Tajikistan to return to normality after eight police officers were killed in a terrorist attack there.

"As a close friendly neighbor and strategic partner, China supports the measures taken by the Tajikistan government to maintain national security and stability," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei at a regular news briefing.

He said China was willing to deepen security cooperation with Tajikistan so as to maintain peace and stability of the two nations and the region.

The police officers were killed early on Friday in attacks on the outskirts of the capital Dushanbe and in the town of Vahdat, just outside Dushanbe. Endi
